Sustainability Victoria Chief Executive Stan Krpan said that the organisation believes owning and maintaining software is not in line with its future direction, and FirstRate5 would be better maintained by private industry.
Sustainability Victoria has owned FirstRate5, which helps existing home owners and the building industry to improve the energy efficiency of Australian dwellings, for more than 20 years
“The Victorian Government’s information and communications technology procurement policy recognises innovation is best achieved through private sector ownership of software intellectual property, and we firmly believe there is an exciting future for this software in the marketplace,” Mr Krpan said.
